Phu Quoc is famous for islands as well as beaches with a rural touch. You will not find so many shopping malls and markets that in there apart from Ho Chi Minh City, of course. People always try to look for options when it comes to shopping during their trips to Phu Quoc, Mekong Delta. So, there are some options for the new people.

1. Local Markets

The local markets in Phu Quoc are common. You will not find any western style products and items. But they have their local products. Colorful vegetables, fruits and other local items are common. Duong Dong market is the most famous in Phu Quoc area and it is located in the downtown. 

The market is always filled during the daytime. There is a lot of traffic. People can be seen loading and unloading their products that are sold here. Explore this market and you will surely find something for shopping.

2. Duong Dong Shops


This is a main town in Phu Quoc with a lot of shops. Most of the items sold here include drinks, beer, beverages, toothpastes, soaps, biscuits and other similar products. The market also has some pharma shops, bakeries, sunglasses repairers and laundry shops. You will also find construction material like timber, paints, tiles, and marble.
Many people try to find shops where they can buy clothing, shirts and jeans for them during the trip. There are mosquitos and a lot of dust so people need long shirts. You can find some small shops just opposite to this market. They are very cheap and you will find old style shirts and clothing there. 

3. Resort Shops

There are a good number of beaches and resorts in the area. Beaches are the reason why people visit this region like Mekong Delta or Ho Chi Minh City. In every resort, the locals have installed small shops and stalls where you will see products like pearl necklaces to caps, T-shirts or postcards. If you want to buy such products, try to get from resorts in Phu Quoc because the items there are cheaper.

4. Craft Shops


The local people have made few shops in the main island. They sell art work and crafts. The products sold there are imported from the city centers or urban areas. There are no manufacturers at all so they have to purchase from the main towns and sell at islands. Most of the shops sell items like souvenir types, including jewelry, pearls, and art works. 

5. Pearl Shops

As there are so many islands, the locals as well as some foreigners have started their businesses of selling pearl products. There is also one store by a team from New Zealand. They have a website and you can check that to see what they sell. This can be the best shop if you want to purchase sea products. Other shops are a bit expensive and they don’t have the same standard and quality of their items. You can also explore other shops in the downtowns for better products and cheaper items.
